Keane Tan

I chanced upon the art of cinematography in his later experiences working on film sets. My first journeyed into filmmaking by taking on all sorts of roles: continuity assistant, line producer, production assistant and camera assistant (CA). My chance encounter led me to boldly pursue cinematography despite having no knowledge, presently working as a CA in Singapore-based production company, with a strong focus on commercials and corporate videos. With a keen eye for colour and details, I continued to shoot and edit videos for events, products, interviews and lifestyle. I continue to hone my craft by working alongside and learning from more established directors of photography. To me, cinematography is an intimate visual art form in which one can portray a person’s story. If a picture tells a thousand words, imagine what can be said with 25 pictures in a second!
