Najib Derakoui

Born in 1984 in Casablanca, Production Manager and Producer. I trained throughout my adolescence in Films and Television professions alongside the must renowns, D.o.P, Directors and Producers in Morocco. After a stint in different positions on several projects, I turned to studies in Economics and Management at the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences, where I obtained a License in 2006 in Casablanca, Morocco. I started my professional career on filming as a PA, then as a Location Manager and finally I became a Production Manager. In 2014, I produced the feature film "Claws of the past" directed by Abdelkrim Derkaoui, supported by the Moroccan Cinematographic Center. Between 2016 and 2017 I produced the documentary "The Perpetual Motion" directed by Hassan Benjelloun which obtained a post- production fund from the OIF, in 2018 I co-produced the Moroccan-Norwegian short movie "Doah" directed by Farzad Samsami, the short obtained several international awards, in 2023 I produced the short movie "Queen", who win prize in Ale Kino at Poznan and a prize in Afrika Film London, and he is selected to participate in the official competition of the Red Sea Festival and Clermont Ferrand and finaly during this year I coproduced with Farzad Samsami his first feature film "The Waves of Silence". Since the beginning of my career and until today I have produced for the Moroccan television channels SNRT and 2M several TV films and Series. Alongside my father, I also ensured the executive production of various foreign projects that chose Morocco as a destination, such as the feature film “Exils” by Tony Gatlif, which won the Best Director award at the Canne Film Festival in 2004.
